Dunham Massey

4th October

What did people think following the walk:

  • I felt refreshed though I feel I should have done a lot more walking to compensate for the delicious scone and hot choc I had!!

  • Easy way to get your steps done for the day.

  • Unfulfilled

What have you learned for next time ?

  • Afternoon walks need to start for midday at the latest since the days are becoming shorter and because it allows us to enjoy the outdoors more otherwise we end up rushing around.

Overall feedback:

  • Nice walk to end the week.

  • Should have been longer.

Fletcher Moss, Didsbury

10th October 2020

What did people think of the walk?

  • Felt great

  • It was a big achievement to walk when the weather wasn't looking good.

  • Happier

  • Gentle walk. Hidden surprise in Didsbury

What have you learned today?

  • Keeping healthy is very important

  • People need to know how long they are likely to walk, Roughly how many miles, What is the terrain likely to be. People need to know if it is puch chair friendly. Toilet facilities available or not Car parking cost etc Side rd parking available or not etc. I think the admin are already doing some of it.

  • I cannot do walks with mud as that is a health and safety issue for me. I nearly slipped and if I had fallen then it could have been quite disastrous as I'm middle aged and have dependents. But it was a lovely walk and sr Farida Extended her arm to me when I was stuck before a muddy, slippery slope. Are there any walks with concrete and less muddy paths as I'm no spring chicken lol?

Any overall feedback?

  • Loved every minutes of it

  • This is an excellent and cheap way to keep fit and socialize. Some of us were desperate for such opportunities. Thank you for organising these walks.

  • Warm and friendly environment. Great opportunity for those who need scenic wAlks but are afraid to explore on their own.

  • Nice easy walk

What did you learn today?

  • Leant that all our companions and friends were very compassionate of the work we do and were very supportive

  • I felt maybe one key person should have had a First Aid kit.

  • Well informed

Any overall feedback from the walk?

  • We thoroughly enjoyed today’s walk and exploring a new part of the north west!

  • Really loved today’s walk! So therapeutic 😌

  • The walk was great but we had a few not so happy people walking past us and commenting on the lack of social distancing. So we need to be more careful about staying in our bubbles and keeping distance between each bubble. However, it hasn't been easy to stick to the bubbles as some people walk faster others slower then everyone just gets mixed. So if we are chatting and walking with someone or more people (no more than 6) we need to at least make sure we keep our distance from the people in front of us. That way it keeps us in small groups but with distancing and hopefully no one will complain when they walk past.

  • Brilliant! Alhamdullilah!

  • Good walk. Well organised. Need to ensure we stay apart in 6ppl bubbles

  • Amir and Amna have done wonderful job once again. Great company

  • Brilliant will like to do it again sometime

  • Well organised.

  • Happy with how the walk was organised and enjoyed the challenging walk today. Looking to do more challenging walks like this.

  • Loved it

  • Great walk today but only got steps for the day done with extra walking at end. Should try to start as soon as can...sometimes lots of time just waiting. The location and views were amazing today.

  • Really good as always

  • Wear layers

  • Some beautiful places to discover in Britain

Fletcher Moss Botanical Garden

24th October 2020

I am now beginning  to notice the lovely colours in autumn.
Red leaves on the Acir tree in autumn are as beautiful as the red roses in spring.
While we enjoy the colourful display of flowers in spring.
There is no stopping us from enjoying the colourful display of autumn leaves.
So many different shades of just green alone.
"What a wonderful sight for sore eyes."

How did you feel after the walk

  • Good

  • It was great to explore places I haven’t been before but so local to where I live !!

  • I felt happy

  • Although the weather wasn’t good we enjoyed fully and net lovely people

  • After each walk l feel an amazing sense of achievement.

  • I feel l've done something for my physical wellbeing.

What else we can do to make things safer?

  • I think that admin person should carry a small first aid box in case of an emergency

  • I think most of the people are quite sensible and are aware of the safety measures.

  • Stay in your own bubble and keep distance with other group

Is there anything you have learned today that will help you next time?

  • One should carry first aid box

  • When there is a choice of different time slots for the walk. Then people should let each other know whose going at which time.

  • We should all respect and adhere to the timings of walk that has been decided by the organisers. If people want to start early or late then they should not share it in the group. It distracts others and creates confusion.

Any overall feedback?

  • Fabulous walk in the fresh Autumn air and lovely company

  • We tried harder to stay in bubbles of 6 with some distance between groups. We had to remind each other now and again but overall we did well. Gentle walk with rain at times but it didn't spoil anything due to the company.

  • Great walk lovely company

  • We are inspiring each other to go for these walks

  • Great leadership skills displayed by Asim bhai. Thanks to Amir and other organisers once again

Sale Water Park

25th October 2020

How did you feel after the walk?

  • Unexpectedly many people turned had a lovely walk weather was perfect

  • Refreshed

  • A great day out with the family away from all the corona :-)

  • Great

  • Happy

  • Refreshed and happy to have met lovely people

How can we make the walks more safer?

  • I think we are doing all we can to keep safe as per government restrictions

  • Just choose times and places less busy

  • To keep going

Any overall feedback?

  • Managed our daily steps

  • Great walk.. fabulous company and good workout 😃

  • Great

  • Everyone stayed relatively within their bubbles and kept their distance. It was very busy at sale water park though so you ended up being close to people as you walked past them.

What have you learned today?

  • All is good

  • Need right shoes (shopping trip🙈)

  • To find out if there are is more than 1 car park at the venue so people know the exact place to meet. I didn't realise there were 3 different ones so people parked in different places. But we managed to make our way to the same spot.

  • Having a separate list of exactly who will be coming is good so you know if everyone has arrived or not.

31st October 2020

How did you feel after the walk ?

  • Exhilarated!

  • Good amount of steps done for today....Great walk

  • This was a challenge but myself and my husband completed the circuit twice if we can do it so can you take the challenge

  • Wet but thoroughly enjoyed it. Going round twice made it a good challenge.

  • Fantastic!! Still buzzing 😃

  • Day of checking how waterproof my new trousers are. Good fun finding out

  • Wonderful

How can we make the walk safer?

  • Bubble of six was in place we should continue with it for all our safety

Have you learned anything new today?

  • As we did the circuit twice I felt more confident on it doing it second time round

  • When we are in our bubbles of 6 we should be allowed to overtake another bubble if they are walking slower... many times today we had to stop and wait till the bubble in front of us moved on a bit more... this was a bit frustrating until we asked permission to overtake!!

Any overall feedback?

  • It was fantastic, every team member is considerate of others. Each person brings their unique set of skills to enhance the experience for us all. I appreciate each and every member for this.

  • Good walk and location

  • We managed to do over 25000 foot steps

  • The walk was very well organised. Having had the route pre set out it was therefore plain sailing throughout. I was impressed with the leaders and they each took their teams safely round. Going a second time round helped other core walkers to try the route out which was very beneficial. Enjoyed the banter and race too!! Also, having different start times for each group was a lot better for keeping to the restriction rules.

  • Great place, and fabulous leader ... really enjoyed it today, it was much needed 😌

  • Enjoyable

  • Another great experience. Group was very led by our team leader. Thanks to Ambreen
