About the event
This is a three-mile walk around the hilltop of Werneth Low with extensive views over the South Pennines, Derbyshire, the Welsh Hills, the Cheshire Plain and the conurbation of Greater Manchester. Much of the route straddles the border of Tameside and Stockport boroughs.
There is a steep climb at the start of the walk for about 5 minutes but it is easy going and after that it is relatively flat.
As the walk route includes styles and some ascents and descents, it is not rated as suitable for wheelchair or pushchair-users.
Prayer times and what to bring
We will pray Asr in Jamaat along the route at around 2:45pm insha'allah. We will also pray Maghrib on the route at 4pm and then enjoy the sunset.
Please come with your wudu if you plan to pray and bring prayer mats with you.
Please also make sure you are well-wrapped up because once we stop walking, it can get cold easily.
Please also bring a light with you so that you can see the route more easily. Once it gets dark, it can become difficult to see
