About the event
This is normally a three-mile walk around the hilltop of Werneth Low with extensive views over the South Pennines, Derbyshire, the Welsh Hills, the Cheshire Plain and the conurbation of Greater Manchester. Much of the route straddles the border of Tameside and Stockport boroughs.
As the walk route includes styles and some ascents and descents, it is not rated as suitable for wheelchair or pushchair-users.
We have kept it open so you can arrive at any time between 7:30pm and around 9pm when the sun starts to come down. If you register then we will add you to a group list so that you can connect with each other and meet up when you arrive
Toilets and refreshments are also available, according to Tameside Council, at the Lower Higham Visitor Centre where the walk starts and finishes. The Hare and Hounds Inn is also just southwest of the Quarry Car Park on the route.
