About the event
The secluded Piethorne Valley is hidden from view and nestles in the folds of the high Pennine moors. Victorian reservoirs built to supply water to the surrounding area dominate the valley and provide a wonderful backdrop to this moorland walk. The valley holds many delights, with rolling hills, stunning scenery, picturesque waterways, and a wealth of history all waiting to be discovered.
This is quite a challenging walk in places. It will take about 2.5 to 3 hours. A lot of it is flat but this is the moors so you will be getting a workout in places! Hiking boots and appropriate clothing is a must. Walking sticks if you have them. Plenty of water and snacks.
Parking: at OL16 3TQ
