About the event
Masjid E Vali in Blackburn, United Kingdom, opened its doors to worshippers on 1 January 2026 after around five years of planning and construction. Funded by the Issa Foundation, set up by local businessmen Mohsin and Zuber Issa, the mosque is named in memory of their father, Vali Issa.
One of the largest mosque developments in the region in recent decades, it can accommodate more than 1,000 worshippers and includes separate prayer spaces for men and women, a creche, extensive parking, and modern features such as solar panels. The mosque is intended to serve both as a place of worship and a community hub for Blackburn’s Muslim population.
